Profile

Mitchell is a Registered Psychologist with experience working with individuals and families across the lifespan and presenting with a range of mental health conditions (such as anxiety and depression), as well as neurodevelopmental disorders (such as Autism Spectrum Disorder and ADHD).

Mitchell graduated with Class 1 Honours from the University of Newcastle in 2016 and has been practicing Psychology since 2017. During this time, he has developed his therapeutic skills in a number of evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Child-Centred Play Therapy (CCPT) and Family Systems Theory.

Mitchell likes to take a holistic approach towards the care of his clients. This includes connecting with the client’s support system, including Occupational Therapists, Speech Therapists, Support/Case Workers, Behavioural Support Specialists, Teachers and any other relevant support persons identified by the client. Given the range of presentations that Mitchell works with, he understands the importance of offering a flexible therapeutic approach. This involves giving clients choice and control over their therapy, so that they can meet their needs in ways that makes them feel safe and empowered.
